New York From the Water

Sometimes it's easy to forget that we're surrounded by water living in New York, but this summer the waterfront has been easier to access than ever. We've been enjoying the fantastic new Fulton Ferry Park, exploring Governor's Island, riding the Water Taxi. This Saturday we rode a ferry through the harbor. Here's one view with the Statue of Liberty in the distance.

Governors Island is a 172-acre (69 ha) island in Upper New York Bay, approximately one-half mile from the southern tip of Manhattan Island and separated from Brooklyn by Buttermilk Channel.
