The Highline

The Highline is one of my favorite destinations in NYC. It boasts some of the best gardening in the city, featuring indigenous, sustainable, and hardy plants. Patterned after Paris' Promenade Plantee, the original elevated garden stroll, Phase 2 opened this summer, extending to 30th St. Now with a roller rink, food trucks, and beer garden awaiting you at the end.

Gayhead Cliffs

Polaroid, how I've missed you. I can't promise I'll be able to keep up with this Impossible and expensive habit, but I'll be here once in a while.

Had a baby since last we spoke. A lovely little boy. Took him to Martha's Vineyard this summer. Gayhead beach, specifically. Have you been? It's my favorite.

Have You Heard the News?

Yay!

Polaroid has teamed up with The Impossible Project to re-launch Polaroid Instant film! That means more Field Trips in our future, friends. Large scale production doesn't start again until 2010, but I have a few relics in the icebox to keep us entertained until then.

Many thanks to The Impossible Project and Save Polaroid for all their hard work.

Claude Found a Jellyfish

Bet you thought it was too late in the year for a trip to the beach.

Oh, but you'd be wrong....

New Commute

New York has been an embarrassment of riches lately. Last week alone included Field Trips to see Radiohead (how to choose just one song to represent Radiohead? What about this one, or this one, but especially this one?) , Sharon Jones, and Bob Dylan (just up the street in our very own backyard, Prospect Park).

Oh, and a musical about our favorite Nigerian musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti (go, go, hurry! It's closing on September 21).

But what I've really been enjoying is my new commute into Manhattan. Of course, I've been bringing the camera along.

Off to the Beach

A fitting end to the week.

So to speak.

With only two official weekends left to the summer (how does it go so quickly?), you can imagine where we're headed!
